Having crooked or misaligned teeth can make you hide your smile away, but the thought of having treatment with traditional braces can be very off-putting, particularly for adult patients.

smilelign-with-web-vectorTraditional train-track style metal braces are very obvious and can take a long time to work, requiring several visits to an orthodontist. The Smilelign system is different: this way of straightening your teeth is practically invisible and, depending on what treatment you need, can take as little as 6-12 months to complete.

The system makes use of the latest 3D CADCAM technology to create a bespoke treatment plan for your teeth.

Treatment with Smilelign will require more than one visit. At your first visit, the dentist will examine your teeth before taking a mould of them, using a special type of putty. This mould is sent to the Smilelign laboratory, where a 3D image will be produced and used to develop your treatment plan. This image also shows how your teeth will look when treatment has finished, meaning you know exactly what to expect.

The laboratory will create individual aligners from these 3D images. When your first set of aligners are ready, you will have your second appointment and your dentist will fit the aligners and explain how to use them. The aligners very gently move your teeth into their new position, and you will require various aligners as your teeth move. Once treatment is complete you will be provided with a retainer to wear to ensure your teeth stay in the new position.

Smilelign is very discreet. What’s more, the Smilelign system is removable, meaning you can take out your aligners to eat, drink and to clean your teeth.

quote-startSmilelign is fab…… I had it done for my wedding and it just changed my day! For ages I noticed one tooth in every photograph and it bothered me so I didn’t need to think twice. Easy to wear, not visible, comfortable and I have to say very quick. Dr Bentley thank you for making my photos special for my special day!quote-end
